Peggy Papez

Peggy Papez is the creator of the (almost, maybe, kinda) infamous "Peggybag” (as they are affectionately called within the Tarot and Oracle deck community). She started making new and improved bags for Tarot and Oracle decks for her wife Lisa back in early 2018 because, as she put it, most of the bags available at the time were “total crap” that would fall apart quickly with use. A problem-solver by nature, she decided to start making better bags for all of Lisa’s (many) decks. To fund this (rather large) project, she began making two at a time - one for Lisa, one for the Internet, and thus... her Etsy shop, Sparx Creations, was born. In addition to sewing her heart out making her wide variety of deck bags and tarot reading cloths, Peggy also frequently hangs out with Lisa on her YouTube channel where she shares her sass generously with all - which is, of course, where all of her Say Yes to the Deck expertise originated.

The Rules of Tarot

So, what rules matter to us? None of them, and all of them. Simple right? Ok you got me there, not simple at all. There’s a reason why there are so many books about cartomancy, divination and Tarot.

So let’s identify what is and isn’t true:

Oceanum Arcanae, The Ocean Tarot, A Noob Review

Before I even get to the deck, I like that it comes with a reading cloth. It’s a little thing, but for a new (or any) reader, it’s a nice touch and a great little nudge to help you get started. The box is really pretty and sturdy with a neat little hinged opening. There’s definitely some curb appeal here – which my lovely wife Lisa talks about in detail on her walkthrough.

So, what is Tarot?

So, what is Tarot?

Simple question, right?

The dictionary describes Tarot as thus:

(Yes, I used the word ‘thus’ in a sentence and in context. Don’t worry, I’ll throw in a random swear sooner or later to level the playing field.)
