Today I’m looking at the Lucid Dreams Beginner Tarot. As my first review, I will say Lisa has gone easy on me and given me a deck that’s got a lot going for it. She’s really excited about it… and I can see why.
Each card has a comprehensive list of keywords for both the upright and reversed meanings right on the card! That right there gets my attention as even the most inexperienced reader can use this deck from day 1.
The guidebook has complete meanings for every card with the left hand pages all being blank for note taking – a great bonus if you’re the note taking type. The guidebook also includes some thoughts and ideas on how to prepare to do a reading and gives a great list of sample questions. I’m the “no rules are the best rules” type myself, but it’s still helpful to have a starting point, especially if you’ve never read tarot before.
For those looking to dive a little deeper, each card has its elemental symbol as well as planets and astrological signs on each card. Information on these is also found in the guidebook. There is definitely room to grow, making it a great deck for more experienced readers as well.
While I do like the art, I thought the gold foil was distracting. As a new reader, I’m not sure that it’s all that beneficial.
On the other hand, having the keywords clearly outside the boundary of the card means that if you ever want to trim the deck, you can remove the keywords easily.
I would definitely recommend this deck to any new Tarot reader.
Oooo, Peggy! My daughter bought me the Lucid Dreams Tarot for my birthday and as I knew the cards were coming I bought one of your double bags to keep them in. The cards are beautiful and my Peggy bag is gorgeous and together they give me all the awesomely good feels. Big Hug!!
Big hugs right back. I hope the deck is working out for you 😀
